“If one had to fill in, little by little, the gap between day and night, it would take an eternity to do it. But the sun rises and the darkness is dispelled- a moment is sufficient to overcome an infinite distance.” – Rabindranath Tagore.

DEPTH OF PYAARThis is a film about two brothers – Yash a prolific, charismatic young lawyer who is frustrated in his pursuit of justice, while Ansh is a social recluse because of his medical limitations. Their lives are overturned when a sociopathic criminal targets them and their loved ones. Both are forced to make decisions about how far they will go for the people whom they love. This a story about choices and the freedom behind them and how potently they could affect the life of multiple individuals. One would be reminded of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s ‘Babel’ Where a single action affects the life of three different individuals living across the globe. The world was one unified nation believed Rabindranath Tagore where individuals were more alike than they could imagine.

This is a tale about the erasure of differences. A tale where chaos and doom ensures the coming of mankind together. A gentle reminder of man’s desire to exist in an absurd world full of perils.

It is also a tale of a certain clash of differences, when blind passion meets hard rationality, when ambition meets indifference and when order meets chaos. The choice of each and every individual then plays a vital role, intact the most vital role in determining the course of events and the significant turns they must take either towards life or towards total annihilation.

Veronica Roth wrote :

” There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.

DEPTH OF PYAARBut sometimes it doesn’t.”

Yash and Ansh face a similar dilemma. At crossroads they must make that one important choice that would change or destroy their carefully constructed worlds.

Mukesh Asopa does a great job as a director. The shots have been perfectly captured while the acting was impeccable. The dialogues were thoughtfully written and none of the scenes took away the human element from the movie. The execution had to be perfect in order to convey the message of the director and it was perfect.

DEPTH OF PYAARLike Babel, Yash and Ansh must find calm within the domain of such tumultuous existence and come out of the cave of ignorance as wiser souls lost in the ravages of time, now more enlightened than ever.
